Asbestos Testing Kit?

In our Asbestos Testing Kit, you will receive:

Full step-by-step instructions and video tutorial.
Personal protection equipment, including disposable coverall, a P3 face mask, and gloves.
Polythene drop sheet.
Bagged cleaning wipes.
Inner, outer, and larger sample bags.
Red asbestos waste bag and clear asbestos waste bag.
Pre-paid addressed return envelope.
UKAS accredited laboratory analysis fee included.

Not included: You will need to provide your own tool to collect the sample (a screwdriver or Stanley knife is sufficient), a spray bottle to spray the area, and gaffer tape to enclose the sample point.

What You Need to Know

It’s important to handle asbestos safely.

DO NOT disturb the material(s) you suspect to contain asbestos any more than is necessary to collect a small sample.
This kit is NOT to be used for sampling sprayed coatings/pipe insulation/any loose asbestos insulation materials.
DO NOT use power tools to collect your sample.

Please ensure you feel confident following the instructions carefully, as disturbing asbestos-containing materials can be hazardous. Easy-to-follow instructions.
Disposable single-use, P3 face mask.
Disposable category-3 (type 5/6) coveralls.
1 pair of disposable gloves.
Cleaning wipes, as used by our asbestos surveyors to ensure tools are clean after sampling.
Labelled grip-lock polythene sample bags.
Polythene sheeting (extra thick).
Asbestos waste bag (extra thick).
Packaging to return sample(s) for analysis.

Properties built or refurbished before 2000 may contain asbestos. Unfortunately many common materials used in the construction industry prior to 2000 contained asbestos.

Undertaking any work to the structure of your building can put you at risk of disturbing asbestos. This includes:

Renovating or decorating.
Knocking through walls.
Replacing old kitchens and bathrooms.
Taking down old garages.
Having an extension.
Converting lofts or basements.

Textured coatings for decorative finishes on ceilings and walls.
Partition walls, ceiling tiles, soffits, panels below your windows.
Old asbestos floor tiles.
Toilet cisterns and seats, window sills, and bath panels.
Asbestos cement, such as older boiler systems, water tanks, fire surrounds, and pipes.
Roof sheeting, wall cladding, downpipes, and gutters on older garages and sheds.

We recommend returning the sample to us via special delivery. This way the sample will arrive at our lab within the quickest timeframe. Upon receiving the sample, we will email you a pdf results file, detailing your samples findings within 2-3 days.
