Speak to an Expert
Contract Length: April 2018 – December 2018
Contract Value: £33,000

Established in June 2015, ForViva brought together City West Housing Trust, Villages Housing Association, ForLiving and national property services contractor Liberty under a group structure. The group owns and manages 24,000 homes across the North West. Its profit making group members make viable profit that it reinvests through the Community Impact Strategy – enabling communities to build vibrant, safe and sustainable neighbourhoods.

The Challenge

Following a strategic review and integration programme that was supported by Pennington Choices’ Consultancy Division, ForViva Group determined the need to recruit a Group Managing Director to lead its Liberty Group subsidiary. Forviva Group appointed our people resourcing experts who, following a briefing meeting with the Deputy Chief Executive, authored the job brief that represented the organisation, the job purpose and its responsibilities. We also determined a person specification that reflected the required skills and competences, as well as identifying the key personal traits that would ensure a fit to the company’s culture.

What We Did

Following the client’s approval of the job briefing document, we established the parameters for a dedicated search. We researched the market to identify candidates, made personal approaches to those selected, engaged interested people in dialogue and arranged interviews locally, to suit the individual’s availability and to optimise the response.

From these initial interviews, we presented our recommendations including CVs on a strong shortlist. We undertook reference checks and confirmed that all candidates had the appropriate eligibility documentation. We agreed and arranged the client’s interview schedule in advance.

Our property and contracting expert Jenny Neville (Professional Services Director) accompanied and supported the company’s board through the two-stage interview and presentation process.

Our Achievements

The client was able to select a high calibre individual whose experience fulfilled the brief and who demonstrated the personal qualities that suited the organisation’s culture. We managed the offer and acceptance, including supporting the appointee through the resignation process.
