Housing Strategy

We have substantial experience of producing local housing strategies for local authorities. Our previous experience includes reviewing and mentoring in-house teams in producing strategies, through to full production. We work collaboratively with authorities to:

Identify the challenges faced locally, through analysis of existing research
Where needed, to procure and manage a variety of research projects including housing needs surveys, housing market assessments and private sector stock condition surveys, bringing together the synergies of each and achieving both high quality research but also excellent value for money
Working with residents, members and other stakeholders to identify local objectives and priorities
Undertaking land mapping exercises to identify the scope for meeting the affordable housing challenge
Assessing the financial deliverability of existing affordable housing planning policy
Drafting and producing the local housing strategy, including implementation plans
Supporting the authority with delivery of key projects under the housing strategy

Statutory Housing Services

We understand that ‘housing' is not just about the provision of social housing - whether an authority is a stock retention Council or not, rather that the provision of high quality statutory services such as homelessness and housing options is just as important.
